NEW ADVENTURE
Once you drive into New Adventure RV Park & Horse Hotel, you'll take a deep breath, and start relaxing. As you're setting-up, and realize you've forgotten something, no worries - the New Adventure General Store will have those last minute items, and ice!
ON SITE ACTIVITIES
Stroll the over 1/2 mile rough walking path around the park. You'll scope out the many Dragonflies and Damselflies, Butterflies, Northern Cardinals, Eastern Bluebirds, American Robin, American Crow, or even some Bald Eagles. Mind you, we're in "the country" there are wild animals - rabbits, raccoons, snakes, deer, coyotes, etc.
Relax in the hammocks, or touch the sky in the swings. Grab the horseshoes and play a round - or cornhole (aka beanbag toss) - or ladder toss - or washer toss. Enjoy the outdoor games while watching the sun set at New Adventure.
Once the sun sets, you'll be in awe of the night sky. Gaze at the Milky Way, count the shooting stars, and search for your favorite constellation.
FISHING &
ENJOYING THE LAKE
Via several lake accesses, (free and entry fee), you will able to go fishing in the lake. You'll have your chance to catch Largemouth Bass, Bluegill, Blue Catfish, Channel Catfish, Flathead Catfish, White Bass, Striped Bass, and Crappie.

BIRDING THE FOREST
HUNTING THE FOREST
During the various seasons, hunt the Sam Houston National Forest. Base your RV at New Adventure, and hunt in the nearly 60,000 acres of National Forest in San Jacinto County. Nearest access point is 16.8 miles from New Adventure.
Texas hunting license and Annual Public Hunting (APH) Permits are required to hunt the forest.
Grab your binoculars and camera - the birds are in the forest!
Red-cockaded woodpeckers (the state's largest concentration), brown-headed nuthatches, Bachman's sparrows, gray catbird, and Swainson's warblers are just some of the species you might check-off your list. Not the mention the downy woodpecker, red-shouldered hawk, pileated woodpeckers, and Bald Eagles. Check our Facebook page for some of the unique birds we've captured on camera.
