 TRAILS

The Sam Houston National Forest and Lake Livingston State Park have miles and miles of trails for bikes and hiking.

Horseback riding is allowed anywhere in the National Forest.  There are over 65,000 acres of National Forest in San Jacinto County , (please be respectful of private property as you ride).

Riding your motorcycle through East Texas is breath taking.  Ride on over to New Adventure, hook up your RV, and tour the back roads.

HORSEBACK RIDING

Riding in Sam Houston National Forest

Ready to ride the National Forest?  Trailer your horse to FM 2666 (16.8 miles from New Adventure), and ride amoung the pines.  GPS is highly recommended as you'll be riding in unmarked areas.  We recommend using the FM 2666 Trailhead on Forest Service Road 217 A (Tarkington Trailhead).
